Hey Everyone!
Today I have been working on my daughters quilt. I have most of the blocks sewn together to make rows. I matching stitch the front and hand stitch the back. I do it this way because I am doing the quilt as you go method. I have 3 rows to finish hand sewing together and once that is done I can place them together by design and measure the size needed for the beach/ocean scene in the middle. I can't wait to show y'all once I get it completed.
I didn't get a chance to post a picture of the Sew Sampler box I received Friday so here it is.....
The contents are as follows:
Sun drops Jolly Bar - 42 - 5" x 10" cuts of 100% cotton fabric
The Jolly Bar Book Vol. 1 from the Fat Quarter Shop
Quilters Perfect Stick Klips - perfect way to hang quilts - 5 clips with 6 pieces of stick tape
The Binding Tool - a must have tool for every quilter. It helps reduce the bulk.
Bobbin Nest - Never lose or chase around a bobbin in you sewing space again. Stores up to 30 bobbins.
The surprise bonus was the sewing nook box (that's what I call it)
If you are interested in getting a Sew Sampler Box each month, go to FatQuarterShop.com and subscribe.
I will have more for you tomorrow as time permits.
Have a wonderful day!
Just a glimpse of my life in sewing, quilting, embroidery, paracord designs and cross-stitch. I have a few things on the Etsy shop at www.etsy.com/shop/OptimumGraphics. More to come soon!!

Hey everyone!
Friday, I went to the Quilt Guild and I had a wonderful time! The ladies there are so wonderful...I can't explain in words what they are truly like!
We all normally work on something different..some work on embroidered blocks for quilts, some work on patten blocks, some help others with hand quilting tips and tricks, some work on binding....I work on Dear Jane blocks and help others when needed. Like today, I helped one of our ladies put the bobbin in a matching she was unfamiliar with. I also had a little show and tell for today since I did not attend last week due to going to Hotlanta to watch my Braves play ball.
I have finally finished hand quilting all the blocks for my daughters quilt and have begun sewing the blocks into rows as you can see on my previous blog. My goal for the upcoming week is to get all the rows sewn together so I can determine what size the beach/ocean scene in the center will be. Then I will cut all the material for that and sew it together and it will be stitched in the ditch for quilting on this particular piece. I really want this done before she goes to the mountains in September for her fall vacation.
I don't know how much I will get done on the quilt today as I have other tasks that I must get done as I have put them off long enough and now I really have no choice but to get them done and no....they have nothing to do with sewing or quilting....dang it!! I had rather be doing that stuff then doing the things I have put off. I love to procrastinate when it comes to something besides being in my happy place.
I received my first box from the Fat Quarter Shop!!!!! I love the Sew Sampler box! It has a lot of need stuff in it and it's well worth the monthly subscription.......I am glad my husband subscribed to them for me.......it made me HAPPY!!!!! If I get a chance, I will post a picture of the contents at the end.

Hey everyone!
What am I working on today?
I am working on my daughters quilt for her camper. It is going to have 2 rows around the ocean scene. The rows are made from various materials and I chose the Garlic Knot Block for the design. So, I guess this will be today's biggest advanture for me.
I have to take my time due to the increase in dizziness that I have gotten since the vertigo incident. I still do not believe I am over it or I have more fluid floating in and around my brain then we know about. If I can hag out til March of 2017, we will fine out from my scheduled MRI. If not I will have it done sooner.
Time to go back to the sewing machine!!
More pics to come later!!

Well folks......one more thing on my bucket list completed!!!
My oldest daughter bought my husband and me tickets to go and watch the Atlanta Braves play ball in Turner Field this past weekend for my birthday!!
As soon as I walked into Turner Field, I was so happy that tears were flying. I have been wanting to go to Turner Field for as long as I can remember and especially this year, since it was the last season there. My daughter made my dream come true. She also got us a motel room for Friday and Saturday night at the Hyatt-Regiency Hotel only 10 minutes from the field. It was so much fun watching the game. I know....they lost Saturday night, but it's ok....I got to watch them play ball!!!
I also carried my Dear Jane blocks and worked on a couple when ever we were in the room. Most of the time we were downstairs on the balcony where we met a lot of great people and laughed both nights. We had a really great time and I would definitely do it again!!!
Today I am working on my daughters quilt. I have almost completed the hand quilting of all the blocks and then I will work on the beach scene for the center. I will definitely posts pics of the center when I begin working on it.
I will post pics of Atlanta and Dear Jane later in the week!
Good Night eveyone!

I know....I know....its been a long time since I have posted anything....but.....I have actually been busy. I have been working on my daughters quilt. I am now hand quilting all the Garlic Knot Blocks, and I am doing them a quilt-as-you-go style. Once these are finished, will begin the beach scene which is the center focal point of the quilt.
I have also been helping my youngest daughter get ready to head off to college for her sophomore year.
My oldest daughter has purchased her a 5th wheel camper and I have tried to help her as much as I possibly can. She is planning a trip to the beach soon for its madden voyage.
My hubby had new tires on the SUV yesterday for our trip to Hotlanta to see the Braves play. He also put a window motor in the drivers side door so the window can go up and down.
I will be taking my Dear Jane block patterns and fabric with me so that I can work on them while in the hotel. By the way, clothes are packed!!! I'm excited!!
Until next time!
